Pinnacle Services Opens a New SLS Home in Chisago County

Pinnacle Services recently opened a new Supported Living Services (SLS) program in Chisago County after 18 months of providing respite services to three women living in a family foster home. Pinnacle Services began coming to the house in order to give the foster parents a break from their hard work. Pinnacle took on the role of converting the home to a Supported Living Services setting when the foster parents reached retirement.

Throughout the summer, staff at Pinnacle Services worked to transition the house, including purchasing and setting up new tools and systems for the incoming staff. The goal was to create as little disruption to the three residents’ lives as possible.

With the help of Pinnacle Services, these three residents were able to continue the life they had built with the help of their foster parents. When foster parents are no longer able to care for residents, Pinnacle Services is able to step in and be a continuous support throughout the resident’s lives. This service benefits everyone involved.

On September 19th the home officially converted to a Supported Living Services setting. The transition went smoothly and the foster parents stayed as staff members of Pinnacle Services so that they could work some weekends at the home. Pinnacle Services will continue to provide services of the highest quality to residents so they can live their lives in the manner they choose and to which they are accustomed.
