Semi-Independent
Living Services
We
offer Semi-Independent Living Services to adults with
developmental disabilities who live in their own apartments.
The SILS program is for people who do not require twenty-four
hour support, but who need some assistance in order to
live independently in the community. This service provides
training and assistance so that adults can establish themselves
in the least restrictive living arrangement possible,
achieving the most normal lifestyle possible.
We work with consumers to provide them with an array of
options and the necessary support to fulfill their needs
and interests.
Assistance may include, but is not limited to:
• Problem solving skills
• Meal preparation
• Assistance with personal cares
• Person centered planning
• Time management
• Exploration and expansion of personal interests
• Personal money management
• Household management
• Building interpersonal relationships
• Role modeling
• Self-administration of medications
• Use of community resources
Working
Together
Our staff meets with families, Interdisciplinary Team
members, and the consumer regularly, in order to monitor
expectations. The schedule design is flexible to meet
the consumer’s needs.
